He combines his special aptitude for social media with international experience, a strong technology foundation and exceptional business acumen.
Chambers comes to Chief Outsiders fresh from his work as a marketing and sales consultant where his clients benefited from his experience in developing marketing strategies, boosting brand awareness, and initiating profitable marketing and sales operations. Prior to that, he oversaw the worldwide marketing efforts of Courion Corporation, a 25M+ enterprise security software company. There he drove revenue and profit growth through brand consistency, increased brand awareness against major players, enhanced lead generation, improved marketing processes and sales pipeline development. He also defined and executed SEO and other marketing strategies while creating new go-to-market systems.
The mid-2000s saw Chambers busily improving the fortunes of Chief Marketing Officer of Presstek, a 300M printing equipment manufacturer, and Onyx Software, a public $60M CRM enterprise software company. His global marketing achievements at Presstek included re-branding and repositioning the enterprise as the premier digital offset printing company in the market. As leader of Onyx's global marketing, he helped engineer a turnaround that led to the first profitable year in company history, which in turn enabled a highly successful sale of the business. But Chambers' branding skills had already been demonstrated in his work as Vice President of Marketing for Authoria, Inc. and as VP of Americas Marketing for Parametric Technology Corporation. At Authoria he re-branded the human capital management software company through two acquisitions, contributing to a 250% revenue growth and driving sales from $18M to $50M in two years. He also reinvigorated Parametric's public image through new customer and executive programs, sponsorships, sports marketing, lead generation and database marketing.
Chamber's early career paved the way for his later successes. These years included tenures as Director of Corporate Marketing Product Management for ITC, a fault-tolerant computer server manufacturer, and in sales and marketing management for Digital Equipment Corporation. From 1996 to 2000 he developed marketing strategies for IBM’s Asian operations and led startup operations throughout Asia for Ogilvy Interactive, driving the company to revenues of $6M within two years.
