Nation’s largest provider of Fractional CMO services taps Managing Partner with operating background to streamline operations as company scales

HOUSTON, TX – November 17, 2022 – Chief Outsiders, the nation’s largest provider of Fractional CMO services to help mid-market companies grow , recently appointed Clay Spitz to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Spitz, currently serving as the Chief Outsiders South Region Managing Partner, will take on the additional responsibilities of COO as he transitions into the position full time.

“To keep our CMOs focused on making big things happen for clients, we want our operations to run smoothly and unseen in the background,” stated Art Saxby, CEO Founder and Principal. “We also see this as an opportunity for more of our CMOs to take on leadership responsibilities as Chief Outsiders continues to scale.”

According to company leaders, a key element of Chief Outsiders’ success is understanding what each person in the organization loves to do. Knowing where each person excels and what they love to do, helps the company expand their role in that area. Hence, Chief Outsiders now taps Spitz’ impressive operational strengths to keep the focus on client success as the company’s team of marketing consultants grows.

Marketing and Operations Background

With a unique perspective as a former business owner and marketing executive at Fortune 1000 public and privately held companies, Spitz joined Chief Outsiders in 2010. He soon excelled at driving client business growth initiatives through demand generation, loyalty and retention programs.

Prior to Chief Outsiders, Spitz led operations at a family business and later served as District VP at Terminix International. The CEO at Terminix and the CMO of its then parent company, ServiceMaster, asked Spitz to move from operations to VP of marketing because of his leadership skills in blending market dynamics with company operations.

Today, Spitz holds a clear understanding of Chief Outsiders’ market, its business, and the challenges that its CMOs face. The transition to becoming the full-time COO allows him to organize and systemize operations while preserving the freedom and flexibility that its CMOs need to do what they love to do for clients who hire a Fractional (part-time) Chief Marketing Officer.
